Disney training

Whether you've been there before, or this is you first time, I advise you put yourself through some Disney training to prepare yourself for working there.

• Long periods of standing (get some shoe inserts, seriously)- whether you're waiting in line at attractions, or ringing-up guest purchases, you will most definitely be on your feet a whole lot! I suggest you take some time to go on walks around your town/neighborhood/campus/boat...etc... Or you could just stand a lot, like when you are taking your finals, just tell your professor it helps you think by improving blood circulation. You should be doing this in 3 hour periods at least.  I'm standing as I type this!
• Use the Disney point, every time you point out something! If you're not familiar with this it is a two finger point (index and middle), or your whole hand if you prefer. To ensure that you do this properly you can tape your fingers together, or glue them if you feel daring (but I don't really recommend it, unless it's Elmer's multi-purpose glue, which won't really stay).  If you really want to practice point to everything! Point out the time on a clock, point out an interesting cloud, point out a sieve at a hockey game, point to yourself in the mirror when you ask "Who is that good lookin cast member?", because that person is you!
• Making your way flawlessly through crowds- This is something I've become skilled at, I can make it through large crowds of people without touching a single person! It's a skill to be had when you want to be front row at Fantasmic!
• Say fun things like- "Have a magical day!",  "Hello princess/prince!", and "Can I get a high 4!"  It may be weird at first, but when you're in Disney you'll see the charm in it.
• Answering seemingly obvious questions such as: "What time is the 3 o'clock parade?", "Where is the castle?",  "Which park has the Hulk ride?", "Do you work here?"  I'm not kidding, I've gotten all of these, and more.
• Look at maps! If you're unfamiliar with the area, and if you're anything like me, you should take a look at some maps on the area. I personally love Google Earth, It shows you where a lot of things are, such as grocery stores, restaurants, banks, other area attractions... etc... You'll def get a good idea of the area, and with Google street view you can get the driver's point-of-view!
